Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where are you located?

A: We primarily serve the greater Chicagoland area. However, we are more than happy to travel to your location or work virtually throughout the United States.

Q: How does Astrid Design Group operate as a Decorating Den Interiors franchise?

A: Please visit our How We Work page to learn more about our processes, the benefits of working with a Decorating Den Interiors firm, and what to expect.

Q: How can you offer free design services?

A: We have trade accounts with over 130 suppliers. That means we buy our products at wholesale and sell them to our clients at retail, much like any retail store—except our design services are included for free.

Q: How is the project budget determined?

A: You determine your budget! However, if you need assistance developing a budget, we can guide you through this process as well.

Q: Will you exceed my budget?

A: No, we will always stay within your budget. However, as the project evolves, you might decide to change its scope or direction, which could have an impact on the budget. Those changes are yours to decide.

Q: Is there a maximum or minimum project size?

A: No, we work with all project sizes, large or small. Every project gets the same design quality and custom service.

Q: Will you work with my existing pieces/furnishings?

A: Yes, understanding what pieces will be staying in the space is part of establishing the scope of work for the project. However, while we’re working on your project, we may have suggestions on how to better use your existing furniture in the space or how to create new opportunities in other rooms of your house or office.

Q: How long will the project take from beginning to end?

A: The scope of the project determines the timeline. Custom items usually take between 8-12 weeks from the time of contract. Other items may take less. Once the scope of work is defined and products are ordered, we will have a better understanding of the end date.

Q: Are products returnable?

A: We stand behind our products and will certainly return or replace items if something is deficient. Products that are custom-built for a client are not returnable. In some cases, some products may be returnable for a restocking fee.

Q: Will you go shopping in stores with me?

A: No, you should think of us as your own, personal, massive retail store, as we have over 130 vendors with thousands of products to select from.

Q: Will you work with my contractor on a new build or remodel?

A: Yes, we will consult with you and your contractor to make any decisions needed for your project based on an hourly consultation rate.
